Rabbits have been a big part of our farm for many years. We have shown rabbits throughout Michigan and other states, winning several awards for Best of Breed and Best of Show along the way. But we also have rabbits we raise for meat production. Currently we are raising two types of meat rabbits: New Zealand’s and Californians |

Californian |
Rabbit meat has the highest protein and fewest fat and calorie levels than most other meat animals including chicken, turkey and veal. It has a protein level of 20.8% a fat content of 4.5 and a calorie count of 795/lb. The all white meat is very delicate, tender, juicy and flavorful. It is said to help in the prevention of heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes and cancer.

Our 2008 price for Rabbit is $4.50/lb. Both of these breeds will average about 2 ½ lbs. Some have equated the flavor to Turkey or Chicken meat. We'll let you be the judge! Whether you’re frying, baking or roasting, rabbit is terrific meat that tastes great and is good for you at the same time! |
